Brian Shawn
Brian Shawn is a Senior Business Development Partner at Sanford Health and works with Orthopedics & Sports Medicine partners along with Sanford Sports Academies at the Fargo Parks Sports Center.
Originally from Bloomington, Minnesota, Shawn graduated from John F. Kennedy Senior High School in 1997 and went on to the University of North Dakota to earn his undergraduate degree in Communications in 2002. He started his career at KXMB-TV (CBS) in Bismarck, then moving to KVLY-TV (NBC) in Fargo in 2005 as a Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter. He left TV full-time in 2010 joining the staff at Minnesota School of Business/Globe University as Communications and Community Relations Coordinator. A couple of years later, he was hired at the American Red Cross as Regional Communications Officer for the Dakotas Region, while also getting a chance to serve on the National Advanced Public Affairs Team. He went on multiple national disaster deployments across the country as a spokesperson and has broadcasted college football and basketball in the region since 2010.
In addition to joining the board at Homeward Animal Shelter, Shawn is on the Board of Directors for the Argo Vocational Training Center, is a member of the Fargo Lions Club and holds the position as Honorary Brigade Commander for the 141 Maneuver Enhancement Brigade of the North Dakota National Guard.
Shawn, his wife Jessica and daughter Amelia have adopted shelter dogs over the years, including a yellow lab, Max, in 2018, who resides with them in their home in Fargo.
